Emotion
An Exhibition by Charlotte Abraham
Emotion can be defined as ‘a strong feeling deriving from one’s circumstances, mood, or relationships with others’. But what is emotion to us? A screaming feeling coming from within, or a sense of peace and serenity. Despite having the same emotions, we each experience and express these differently. You may wish to run the stress away, or paint until those voices quieten. This exhibition not only explores the expression of emotion, how an individual wishes to portray it or receive it. It also delves into how emotion is processed by the body, through psychology and your own participatory emotions.

A bit about your curator
My connection to art has always been there, but my interest in the human body came across through my studies. The communication and response of emotion of the human body is a subject I have become fascinated with, from the power of bold and bold abstract portraiture through to meditative techniques of pencil and ink drawing. My background in psychology has lent its hand in my continued interested into emotion and how this is processed in the body, and how we can communicate this through art.
